Job Title:Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs)
Duties and Responsibilities

The Deputy Vice Chancellor

i) is responsible to the Vice Chancellor and acts as Vice Chancellor in his/her absence

ii) works with academic colleagues in the development of academic programs

iii) guides and oversees the development and implementation of the Quality Assurance measures for the University

iv) guides the development of the research agenda in the University

v) champions the development of innovative methods of teaching and learning.

vi) guides the process of developing research funding proposals by University staff
Requirement:

Requirements

The applicant should;

i) possess a PhD academic qualification.

ii) possess a widely published record in books and/ or refereed journals.

iii) have at least 10 years of teaching at University level, five of which should have been at senior lecturer level OR a distinctive record of university administration of academic related university units.

iv) have been, at least, Head of Department at a recognized research institution for, at least, three years.

v) demonstrate ability to write successful research grant proposals.
