World Vision (WV) is a global network of people committed to enhance the well-being of children everywhere by empowering families and communities to overcome the challenges of poverty and injustice.

The National Director will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision Uganda Ministry as an effective member of the Partnership in line with Twin Citizenship principles to ensure high Ministry quality and high impact in the field. You will also be accountable for all of aspects of WV's work in the country.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Strategy, Operating Plan and Long- and Short-Term Targets: Ensure there is a documented office strategy, Ministry strategies and operating plans with measurable short-term and long-term targets
Leadership and Management of the office: Ensure an engaged workforce that enhances strategic positioning of the office in Uganda and achievement of a strong diversified financial portfolio.
Compliance and Country Legal environment: Ensure the office complies to local legal requirements and standards
Financial Management and Financial and Operational Audit Compliance: Ensure efficient and effective organizational practices, that result in successful financial and operational audit scores
Safety and Security, Disaster Mitigation and Preparedness: Develop and maintain capacity to mitigate and respond to natural and man-made emergencies

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

· Basic University Degree with preferably Graduate degree in Organizational Leadership, MBA or MA degree in relevant field.

· Degree in International Development is a plus

· Training in NGO leadership and in leading integrated community development programmes

· 12 years of relevant experience; At least 5-year experience in overseeing large Government grants

· Proven Leadership and Management skills

· Government grants and budgets
