Job Title: SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT(1 Position)

Terms of Employment 3 years contract (Renewable)
Job Summary:
To develop and review financial policies, take lead in reviewing, approval of all
expenditures and preparation of Financial statements within the NFA.
Responsibilities and tasks: Assisting in the development and maintenance of appropriate financial accounting policies, systems, and procedures. Responsible for maintaining the prime books of accounts and maintaining the integrity of the financial ledger by controlling access, reviewing and posting all expenditure journals to the general ledger, and ensuring that all control accounts are reconciled on a regular basis. Certifying all the expenditures and ensuring efficiency and effective management of the organization financial resources in manner that would ensure timely and effective implementation of planned programmes and activities in conformity with financial management procedures manual. Management of the payroll system ensuring timely processing of payroll and payment of all statutory and non-statutory deductions in liaison with the Human Resource unit. Maintaining the asset register in liaison with Administration Department to ensure that all stocks and fixed assets are regularly verified and reconciled to accounting records. Taking the lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and final accounts, ensuring that year end timetable and guidelines are prepared and issued in time to ensure a timely closure and submission of the accounts for audit. Liaising with the external auditors to ensure all supporting schedules to the accounts are prepared and the audit is conducted within the stipulated deadline. Management of training needs of accounts staff and budget holders, both at headquarters and in the field on various accounting procedures, controls and accountability. Management of Creditors in liaison with financial accountant on a monthly basis ensuring their total reconciliation. Other relevant tasks as Management may from time to time assign.
Minimum Qualifications, experience and skills.
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or other equivalent; Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA or CPA (U), CPA (K). A Master’s degree in Business Administration would be an added advantage Over 2 years’ relevant experience gained from large reputable commercial organizations. Minimum of 1 year’ experience obtained after professional qualification.
