Job Title: PUBLIC RELATIONS MANAGER(1POSITION) RE- ADVERTISED
Reports to: Executive Director
Duty station: Headquarters Kampala
Salary Scale: NFA 3
Terms of Employment: 3 years contract (Renewable)
Job Summary: To Manage NFA’s Public Relations function and fostering stakeholder/ Public understanding of NFA’s mandate and activities.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
 Develop and Implement NFA’s communication strategy. Over-sees production and dissemination of signage, media programs, print adverts, TV/Radio sports and documents. Over-sees information sieving and clearance prior to up-loading on-to NFA’s website. In charge of NFA’s out-reach program i.e. strategic engagements with government agencies, corporate bodies and civil society to enlist support for NFA’s tree-planting and forest conservation initiatives. In charge of NFA’s marketing function through promoting NFA’s products and services to current and prospective clients. Ensure smooth execution of NFA corporate events i.e. fairs, exhibitions, open-days, anniversaries etc. In charge of protocol activities i.e. arranging high-level meetings/seminars, preparing management programs/presentations and speeches for such activities. Advises management on emerging PR and communication issues. Plans and budgets for the PR Unit. Responsible for preparing articles, press perks/kits, press releases, press statements and conducting press briefings. Supervises activities of the NFA’s Library. Act as NFA’s official spokesperson. Offer internal/external communication and support to NFA staff.

Minimum Qualifications, experience and skills. Honours degree in Mass Communication and or Journalism, Honours in Social Sciences B.A (SS) with additional training in Journalism or Public relations or any other relevant field. Post graduate diploma in journalism and media management, public relations will be an added advantage. Should have at least three years’ working experience in media related work in a commercially business oriented environment. Should be highly computer literate. Should be at least 30 years of age.
