Job title:  Water  and  Sanitation  Specialist
The  Ministry of Water and  Environment  seeks to  recruit  Professionals in  the  Technical  Support Units  to  provide  professional technical  support  to Distritcs Local  Governments to  reinforce its  role in monitoring  and implementation of its mandate with  Local Governments.
Duties
•    Assist  Districts  in developing  realistic annual and quarterly  work plans  in line  with  national investment plans  and strategies  in relation to water supply and water resources  activities .
•    Assist  Local  Governments  to generate  and maintain  baseline  data  and management  Information  Systems 
•    Work with   LGs  to define  capacity  gaps , capacity indicators  and draw  plans and  strategies  capacity  building  and  support LG  capacity building  plans .
•    Introduce  and  promote  appropriate technologies , address  technology  issues related  to the  processes  of planning , costing , implementing ,  maintaining  , monitoring  and evaluation.
Qualifications
•    An Honors  degree  in Civil  Engineering  /Water/Mechanical  Engineering  or  hydrogeology from  a recognized  University .
•    A post graduate  diploma in Water  resources management  or  water  supply shall be  an added advantage .
•    A minimum of  six  years  professional experience , three  of which should be  in the  Water  and sanitation  sector.
•    Experience in the  implementation  of activities  in the  Local  ; Government  Sector  is essential .
