Job Title: Senior Program Officer - Quality Improvement (QI) (ACP)
Reports to: programme manager ACP
Job purpose: to provide technical direction in the development and implementation of strategies for mainstreaming continuous quality improvement of HIV and AIDS services in the country
Key functions:
• Developing and reviewing quality standards and guidelines for HIV and AIDS services in the country
• Participating in planning and budgeting for the HIV and AIDS quality improvement programme
• Guiding the rollout of quality improvement approaches to districts and facilities and monitor compliance with quality standards
• Putting in place a system for monitoring improvement in quality of HIV and AIDS services in the country
• Participating in capacity building activities targeting districts, facilities and other health workers at various levels
• Working with the different technical units to take remedial action to ensure quality improvement in the districts and facilities
• Supporting the establishment of public private partnerships and collaborative linkages for quality improvement
• Participating in research activities in line with quality improvement
Qualifications:
• Must possess a MBChB degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
• Must possess a masters degree in medicine or pediatrics or surgery or public health or epidemiology from a recognized university
• Must have a training in quality of health care improvement at post graduate level
• Training in lot quality sampling methodology is desirable
Experience:
• Must have at least 6 years relevant working experience in implementing HIV and AIDS programmes at national or regional level
Competences:
• Through knowledge and understanding of the national HIV and AIDS programme
• A team player with excellent communication and writing skills
• Through understanding of the concept of health care quality improvement
• Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and understanding of the strategic direction of MoH and of PEPFAR programmes
• Familiarity with commonly used computer packages e.g. Microsoft word, excel, power point and internet
