Job Title: Laboratory Quality Assurance Coordinator
Location: Kampala
Job purpose:
• To coordinate stakeholders in development and implementation of the Quality Assurance Master Plan, the national external quality assurance scheme program and the laboratory accreditation program
Key functions:
• Developing and implement policies, guidelines and protocols related to laboratory quality assurance and standard including comprehensive National External Quality Assessment Scheme, and laboratory program
• Supervising the production, packaging, distribution and evaluation of all quality assessment
• Providing technical advice to the MoH on matters regarding National External Quality Assessment Scheme
• Maintain and update the National External Quality Assessment Scheme database at CPHL
• Coordinating the collection, analysis and dissemination of External Quality Assessment reports to various participating laboratories
• Preparing periodic performance reports for submission to relevant authorities
• Monitoring and evaluating laboratory quality assurance activities
Qualifications:
• Must possess a Bachelors degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or advance Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from Recognized University
• Must possess a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or Microbiology, parasitological, Virology or Public Health from recognized University
• Must have at least nine years of relevant working experience five of which should have been at a national reference or research laboratory
• Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Health Service Management would be an added advantage
• Must have at least nine years of relevant working experience five of which should have been at a national reference or research laboratory

• Demonstrated ability in Good Laboratory Practices
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Ability to coach and mentor staff
• Good analytical and quantitative skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and understanding of the strategic direction of MoH and of PEPFAR programmes
• Leadership, communication, writing and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience in quality laboratory practices
