Post: Senior Planning Engineer

Main purpose
To undertake project identification, feasibility studies, and packaging of projects for investment

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Undertake me identification of a pipeline of projects for investment in line with established guidelines.
• Assist the Principal Engineer to prepare TORs for feasibility studies, surveys and engineering designs for the identified projects.
• Review Consultants' feasibility study reports and provide pertinent comments For the Consultants' benefit
• Prioritize the individual projects in line with established criteria and put them in packages for presenting to binding agencies for investment.
• participate in the procurement process as required from time to time in line with the procurement guidelines.
• Gather and prepare project data for the GIS database and REA website updates.
• Carry out any other duties specified by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• A good Bachelors Degree in Electrical engineering from a recognized university or equivalent
• Post graduate degree in Power system Planning and Design or Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage
• 5 yours working experience with at least 3 years experience in power systems planning.
• Must be knowledgeable about project software and power system analysis software.
• Must be knowledgeable about survey and on engineering drawing
• Highly motivated, Innovative, pro-active and committed team player.

TERMS OF SERVICE
The persons appointed to these posts will be stationed in Kampala, but with a lot of field work, especially in the planning, construction and monitoring areas. They will follow the Agency's rules and regulations as stipulated in the REA Human Resource Manual. They will serve on four-year contracts, renewable on satisfactory performance. Remuneration is attractive and market based.
