Job Description (Duties):

As part of their growth strategy, the company will be diversifying its Insurance operation to the Ugandan market.

Job Purpose:

Assess the cleanliness and hygiene situation of the establishment and detect current and potential problems.

Nature and Scope:

He/she will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining a clean work place; and preparing and serving tea to other staff.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To clean the office on a daily basis;
To mop the floor and remove spillage;
To collect and remove waste/rubbish from work area to collection point as directed;
To prepare tea for the employees as and when required;
To serve tea as directed;
To wash the dishes and ensure that the kitchen is in order
To clear the office desks and ensure a clear desk policy in the office
To clean the carpet, windows and remove stains
To report any breakages, leakages, shortages, etc;
To ensure stock levels in the pantry are maintained (e.g. sugar, tea, soap, etc)
To clean and maintain cleaning equipment as instructed;
Continuous monitoring of the cleanliness of facilities and other equipment;
Informs the management for the need of extensive repairs and other major renovations in the work area or office;
Perform simple sterilization procedures such as boiling rugs and other cloths;
Monitoring hazards in the office such as those related to fire and electricity;
To carry out any other duties as assigned.


Necessary Qualifications:

Minimum Education Form 1V (O Levels) mean grade of C;
Two –years work experience in a similar position;
Occupational Health certificate or similar certificate to be issued annually or as directed by the Ministry of Public Health
Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Ability to maintain confidentiality;
Computer literacy will be an added advantage.
