1954 Dunstan Nsubuga becomes first Ugandan Warden

1957 First Ugandan woman theologian, Spetume Florence Njangali, joins the college

1960 Njangali graduates from BTTC. However, her home diocese did not ordain her as priest because she was a woman.

1961 Church of Uganda Province inaugurated (included Rwanda, Burundi, Zaire – DRC Congo)

1963 Literature and Radio centre opened. First two diploma graduates

2004 (May) University receives the University Charter making it the first private university to receive it.
New Chancellor, His Grace Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi installed
Nkoyoyo Hall, in memory of the first Chancellor former Archbishop Nkoyoyo, inaugurated.

2006 Erica and Geraldine Sabiti hall opened as girls’ residence. Hall accommodates 400 students, and has lounge with over 30 Internet connected computers.
Construction of male hall begins is phase one is completed in September
August 29: 7th Graduation Ceremony. Over 1200 graduate with 50.8% women. This is a great development compared to the graduation class of 2000 when only 69 women (21.3%) graduated out of 324 students.
