Job Title:Clinical Officer(1 position)

Duty Station: Kyangwali Refugee Settlement

Job Summary:
Carry out consultations in OPD and Inpatients services, timely referrals, responsible for supervision of health services in the health facility, give on job training and support supervision to subordinates in the facility, ensure the community participate and get involved in community based health care activities, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate Primary Health Care delivery in the health facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide 24 hour on-call services to the health facility and organize/recommend patients for referral
Coordinating and supervising day to day activities of the staff in the health facility.
Participate in community mobilization and sensitization on curative and preventive health services.
Collect health information from the health facilities and community health services, compile, analyse, utilize and give feedback to relevant stakeholders.
Carry out operational research in his/her target area to improve the health service provision.
Manage and supervise performance of the direct reports
Coach, capacity build and provide mentorship to the direct reports
Carry out patient assessment, diagnosis, prescribe treatment and/or recommend referral of complex cases
Carry out OPD ward rounds, assess patient conditions and recommend further course of medical action to the Medical Doctor.
Monitor hospital staff discipline, to ensure adherence to professional code of conduct and offer high quality services in patient management
Monitor availability of sufficient drugs and other medical equipment to enable the health facility to run effectively
Prepare and communicate duty rosters to all hospital staff to ensure provision of health services is uninterrupted.
Write monthly, quarterly and annual reports for the health facility and submit to the Medical Doctor.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor


Required Qualifications

A Diploma in Medical Services as a Clinical Officer from a recognized institution
A qualification in business management/medical institution management
At least 3 years’ experience in similar or higher position.

Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
A good command of both written and spoken English
Patient, understanding and of a pleasant character
Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Office
Excellent Management skills
Ability to mobilize different audiences
Commitment to the organizational values
