Requirement:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Every Applicant should currently be or should have served as a Judge of a court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters or a court having jurisdiction in appeals from any such court or has practiced as an Advocate for a period of not less than ten years before a court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters.

Applications are invited from suitable and eligible Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts currently available in the Courts of Judicature specified below: Applications should be submitted, in triplicate, to the Secretary, Judicial service Commission, Farmers House, P. O Box 7679 Kampala and be received not later than 19th March 2012.Applications should bear the title of the post applied for as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy. Applicants should attach their up to date Curriculum Vitae (C.V) accompanied by:

2 samples of your professional papers/publications – including sample judgments (for Judges), written submissions filed before courts of law (for Advocates), or journal articles.
8 recent passport size photographs of your face.
3 names and contacts of your professional referees.
3 names and contacts of your character referees
A copy of the latest written Declaration Form of Income, Assets and Liabilities to the Inspectorate of Government, IGG. (where applicable).
A copy of your current practicing certificate (for Advocates).
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an LLB degree from a recognized University/Institution plus a post graduate diploma in Legal practice from the Law Development Center, Kampala Uganda or its equivalent. Any relevant advanced/ post graduate qualification (s) will be of added advantage.
