MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Degree in Civil Engineering or Transport Management or Transport Engineering from a recognized university plus a Master’s degree in any of the above fields.
He/She should be registered with Uganda engineers Registration Board (UERB)
Possession of a minimum of a certificate in urban transport will be an added advantage.
Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years working experience in a reputable construction related organization three (3) of which should have been gained at Principal level or middle management level in Government or equivalent level from a reputable organization.

He/she should have the following Key competences: Ability to work as part of a team and to develop subordinates; excellent interpersonal skills, particularly staff/management relations, oral and written communication skills; ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks; high level of integrity, and a sound knowledge of road safety.
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Deputy Director Roads for performing the following duties:-
? Preparing and checking detail plans, design calculations, cost estimations and recommendations prepared by other engineers for completeness, mathematical accuracy and conformity to engineering practices and standards.
? Compiling and analyzing transport and road safety data and preparing conclusions and recommendations.

? Designing and preparing preliminary and final plans for traffic control devices including facilities for pedestrians and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).
? Providing input for the development and maintenance of traffic management policies and procedures.
? Developing preliminary engineering treatments to determine construction feasibility and estimated costs.
? Investigating traffic problems and recommending strategies to improve traffic flow and safety.
? Conducting traffic impact studies for major developments in the City.
? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
