MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction management plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized university/awarding institution.
He/She should be registered with Uganda engineers Registration Board (UERB)
Possession of specialized training in Project planning and Management will be an added advantage.
Applicants should have a minimum of 9 years relevant working experience in Government three (3) years of which should have been gained at Assistant commissioner or equivalent level of working experience as deputy Head of Department in a reputable construction related organization.
He/she should have the following Key competences: Ability to work as part of a team and to develop subordinates; excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills; ability to work and produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks; high level of integrity, a sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and building regulations.
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Engineering & Technical Services for performing the following duties:-
? Developing and monitoring the implementation of roads, and bridges construction, and maintenance policies and procedures as per the Authority Mandate.
? Reviewing and approving road engineering designs and studies for operations and capital development works in accordance with engineering best practices and National design standards.
? Coordinating the development and maintenance of feeder roads as per the Authority road construction plan.
? Supervising the implementation of roads, and bridges construction and maintenance contract works in accordance with the terms and conditions of contracts.
? Developing and implementing programs for routine and periodic road maintenance and works throughout the Authority.
? Coordinating and controlling the development and implementation of departmental operational plans in accordance with the corporation strategic plans, policies and procedures.
? Managing performance and development of staff under direct supervision as per the HR performance management policy.
? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
