Job Title: SUPERVISOR ANIMAL PRODUCTION (1 VACANCY) REF. DSC 15/70/01 [20] SALARY SCALE: UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE-KCCA 6 AGE: 28 YEARS AND ABOVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE: Applicants should be Ugandans holding Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary science or Animal Husbandry plus a minimum of a postgraduate Diploma in a related discipline from a recognized Institution. At least 5 years working experience in field operations of animal husbandry or should be able to diagnose and treat animals of which 3 years must have been gained at Senior level in Government or equivalent Supervisory level of relevant working experience from a reputable organization He/she should have the following Key competences: leading and supervising others, guiding and developing subordinates; good Intra/ interpersonal relation, oral and written communication, community mobilization skills; data collection, documentation and report writing skills; knowledge of community structures and systems and capacity promoting stakeholder participation in government programs; competence in animal production extension work; proven integrity, confidentiality and demonstrated competences in supervising a team of staff to enhance performance; and ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and with limited supervision. PSC EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 5/2012 19 DUTIES:- The incumbent will be responsible to the Manager Animal Production & Fisheries for performing the following duties:-  Coordinating the effective delivery of animal production programs at division level.  Coordinating and providing support supervision to community groups and individual members on matters regarding animal production.  Ensuring that approved plans are implemented in a timely manner and according to approved budgets  Implementing animal production programs and mobilizing communities to participate effectively  Coordinating the process of generating quality and timely monthly reports and data from the field programs. Providing support and developing competencies of supervised staff.  Monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of National and local laws and policies on animal production.  Advising urban councils on policy and related matters regarding animal production.  Managing the discharge of statutory obligations regarding animal production.  Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
