Job Title: COOPERATIVES OFFICER (4 VACANCIES) REF. DSC 15/70/01 [21] SALARY SCALE: UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE-KCCA 7 AGE: 25 YEARS AND ABOVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE: Applicants should be Ugandans holding Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Cooperatives or Business Administration or Development Studies or Entrepreneurship or Finance and Accounting from a recognized University. Possession post graduate qualification in a relevant field from a recognized university will an added advantage. At least 2 years working experience in cooperatives, commercial services/marketing, micro financing within Government departments or Civil Society. He/she should have the following Key competences: planning and budgeting, trade development programs; knowledge of community structures and systems; good interpersonal relations, oral and written communication, community mobilization skills; ability to build capacity of SMEs, CBOs, and other community led groups to implement their mandate; data collection, documentation and reporting writing skills; innovative; coaching and mentoring skills; proven integrity and confidentiality; ability to work well under pressure meet deadlines and with limited supervision; and quantitative and qualitative data analysis DUTIES:- The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor Cooperatives for performing the following duties:-  Planning and budgeting for programs and projects development and strengthening of cooperatives in the urban council.  Providing support and developing competencies of supervised staff. PSC EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 5/2012 20  Organizing local communities to effectively form cooperatives.  Sensitizing communities and monitoring implementation of laws and policies related to cooperatives.  Monitoring and evaluates programs related to enhancing growth of cooperatives in the urban council.  Promoting the equal participation of women and men in cooperatives.  Providing business development services including business management training, business planning, and SME development among others.  Participating in auditing of books of accounts of Cooperatives.  Any other duties as may be assigned from time to ti me.
