MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should be Ugandans holding Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Business Administration/Studies, or Entrepreneurship or Finance and Accounting or related course in Trade and enterprise development from a recognized University.
Possession of a post graduate qualification in a relevant field from a recognized university will an added advantage
At least 2 years working experience at Officer level in commercial services, marketing, enterprise and trade promotion in the Civil Society or Government sectors.
He/she should have the following Key competences: planning and budgeting, trade development programs; knowledge of community structures and systems; good interpersonal relations, oral and written communication, community mobilization skills; ability to build capacity of SMEs, CBOs, and other community led groups to implement their mandate; data collection, documentation and reporting writing skills; innovative; coaching and mentoring skills; proven integrity and confidentiality; ability to work well under pressure meet deadlines and with limited supervision; and quantitative and qualitative data analysis
DUTIES:-
The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor Enterprise & Trade Development for performing the following duties:-
Planning and budgeting for enterprise and trade development programs and projects in the urban council;
Providing support and develops competencies of supervised staff
Organizing local communities to effectively form SMEs and participate in available trade opportunities/;
Sensitizing communities on laws and policies related to enterprise and trade development;
Participating and monitoring programs for enterprise development and trade development;
Generating quality and timely monthly reports and data on enterprise and trade development within the urban council
Promoting the equal participation of all communities in enterprise and trade development programmes;

Offering business development services including business management training, business planning, SME development among others.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandan to fill the following vacant posts in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and other Government Ministries. Applications should be submitted in triplicate on Public Service Form No.3(2008) accompanied by one summary form with a passport size photograph to the Secretary Public Service Commission, Kampala to be received not later than 25th May 2012. The application forms are obtainable from the Public Service Commission Office, 2nd floor Farmers, House, Parliament Avenue, Kampala, Ministry/Department Headquarters and District Service Commission Offices.
As proof of experience where required, applicants MUST attach the relevant documents such as Appointment, confirmation or related document.
