DSC 15/70/02 [36] SALARY SCALE: UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE-KCCA 7 AGE: 25 YEARS AND ABOVE PSC EXTERNAL ADVERT NO. 5/2012 32 MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in EITHER Information and Communication Technology or Software Engineering or Computer Science or computer engineering from a recognized University/Institution. Professional certification such as ITIL V3, MCSA, CCNA or CompTIA Security+ is an added advantage. OR Mathematics/Physics or Statistics plus a minimum of a Post Graduate in Diploma in Computing. Professional certification such as ITIL V3, MCSA, CCNA or CompTIA Security+ is an added advantage Applicants should have at least 2 years’ relevant working experience in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization. Familiarity with best industry practices regarding network administration; Good knowledge of anti-virus software applications and their management are essential. He/she should have the following competences: Have excellent analytical skills; Have excellent communication skills; Have basic understanding of Security practices; should be willing to develop strong technical knowledge about the subjects that the organization deals with; should have ability to review security logs and implement security templates. DUTIES:- The incumbent will be responsible to the immediate Supervisor for performing the following duties:- ? Adding /removing and troubleshooting users’ and computers’ accounts in the network management system (Active directory administration) in accordance with the laid down procedures. ? Troubleshooting , monitoring and reporting on all KCCA communication links(LAN/WAN) including Direct Trader Input links in line with set Service Level Agreements ? Configuring , monitoring and reporting on the organization’s security infrastructure in accordance to the KCCA Security Policy ? Installing and maintaining software on the organization servers and desktops in accordance to the organization’s software standards (Operating systems, office and any other enterprise software) ? Configuring and maintaining network connectivity servers and other equipment (Proxy, Intranet, Anti-virus, Mail and Active directory servers, Routers and Switches) ? Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
