Qualifications and experience

1.    PhD (Research oriented) preferably in Education related field;

2.    Experience in managing and administering Higher Education issues;

3.    Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages and the internet.

Responsibilities

1.    To source for lecturers and supervisors for Post Graduate programmes

2.    To plan and time table all Graduate programmes

3.    To work hand in hand with Graduate Committee to put in place a research policy, and to ensure the day-to-day implementation of such a policy

4.    To supervise all lecturers  in the Graduate programmes and ensure effective teaching and learning

5.    To report to the Academic Board all issues relating to Post Graduate Studies and Research

6.    To propose and forward departmental budget and control vote allocated to the department

7.    To verify claims of lecturers and recommend for payment

8.    To work in consultation with Faculty Dean for Post Graduate Studies at UCU

9.    To handle any other official duty as may be assigned by the Academic Registrar or any other higher authority

3.    Can work unsupervised

4.    Experience in counselling students and staff

5.    Willing to work long hours and under pressure
