Job Title: Senior Technical Officer ,Laboratory
Management Sciences for Health is an international non-profit , public health organization with headquarters in USA, whose purpose is to strengthen health programs worldwide .
Responsibilities
• Under the guidance of the National Laboratory Logistics Coordinator and the Head of Central Public Health Laboratories , the Senior Technical will provide technical assistance to the Logistics Management Unit at CPHL and other partiners .
• S/he will support a range of programs , but primarily focus on strengthening logistics management information systems for laboratory commodities to support the national HIV/AIDS program and improving supply chain management practices .
• The Officer will support the supply chain rationalization process, intergration and harmonization of laboratory commodity management with EMHS at all levels . In addition the job holder will ;Work with the resource centre to intergrate laboratory logistics and M&E data into the DHIS 2
• In collaboration with laboratory staff at NMS, JMS and MAUL, monitor the functioning of the laboratory commodity distribution system , ensuring that stock outs and overstocks at the laboratories and testing centres re avoided or kept to the minimum
Qualifications
• Degree in medical or clinical laboratory technology technology , public health ,business administration , logistics or any related field
• Training in logistics management will be an added advantage
• Knowledge of appropriate methords for data analysis and reporting
• Experience in managing lab commodities including supply planning , quantification , and /or forecasting as well as implementing laboratory information systems
• 4 years experience in logistics management , warehousing and distribution operations , preferably in the medical , clinical laboratory or pharmaceutical industries
