Job Title: District Engineer

AGE LIMIT: 28 years and above
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Main Purpose: To coordinate, manage all techni¬cal works in the District including construction and maintenance of roads, buildings, water works and bridges and to ensure provision of effective repair services to Motor vehicles and machinery.
DUTIES:
• Planning and guiding the designing of the tech¬nical works in the District.
• Advising on the adequacy of safety measures at construction sites.
• Proving engineering works advisory services to both District management and the community.
• Supervising all engineering works in the District to ensure qualitative work.
• Developing and maintaining a proper Road network including feeder roads.
• Acquiring, distributing and maintaining of building plants, heavy vehicles and other infrastructure promptly.
• Approving buildings and other structural plans appropriately.
• Initiating policies and plans on shelter and settlement management and development as well as providing technical guidance structures to approved standards.
• Developing and maintaining proper water and sanitation systems and facilities.
Minimum qualifications
• An honors Bachelors of Social science degree in civil engineering from a recognized university or Institution plus a post-graduate qualification in Civil Engineering.
• Should have 9 years of experience in civil engineering two of which should have been at head of section level,
• Should be a registered Engineer,
• Should have management, interpersonal communication and leadership skills and able to coach and develop subordinates
