Job Title: Senior Cost Engineer
Department: Exploration & Production
Location: Kampala
Responsibilities/ Key Objectives.
- To assist the Group Project Controls Manager with the preparation of the annual business plans and budgets pertaining to major onshore oil/gas separation plants, pipelines and multi-well exploration and appraisal campaigns.
- To maintain historical records and data against which trends may be measured and estimates developed.
- To supervise the operation of the company’s integrated project control systems and all other applications relevant to the cost function.
- Take responsibility for the production of responsive and reliable performance analysis, JV partners, management and GoU project and status reports on all projects and programmes.
Experience and Education:
- Member or fellow of the Associate of Cost Engineers (ACostEDegree qualified in a relevant discipline)
- Experience of initiating plans for the improvement of company systems and procedures for cost control and manages approved development work.
- Expert in cost engineering methodologies within the upstream oil & gas industry and highly conversant with cost estimating and field planning.
- Significant experience of industry standard cost control systems such as Kildrummy or Cobra.
- 20 years experience in cost control or cost estimating within upstream oil & gas with at least 10 years spent in a leadership role.
- Experience of delivering 2 or more major exploration and production cost projects in the oil & gas sector, typically managing a capital expenditure spend in the region of $ 1billion USD per year.
- Experience in managing of costs associated with a 3 or 3 rig program.
