Counselor/ Counseling Jobs in Uganda at IDI- 6 Positions

1. JOB TITLE: COUNSELOR (6 POSITIONS)
Reports to: HIV/AIDS Testing Specialist Summary: Working together with the staff at RRH, the counselor will perform high level confidentiality counseling to patients without discrimination and refer patients for further counseling, care or for social support services.


Responsibilities:
• Provide a full range of counseling services to patients
• Identify patient problems and document pertinent
information
• Assist patients in formulating plans for addressing problem areas
• Refers patients for further counseling to other social support institutions
• Participate whenever requested to do so in clink-research studies


Job requirement

Educational Requirements:
• A diploma or degree in a health related field
• Completion of a recognized course in a counseling with a specialty in counseling services for persons living with HIV/AIDS
• Minimum of 3 years work experience as a counselor in an HIV/AIDS care setting

Knowledge. Abilities and Skills:
• Excellent communication skills
• Good counseling skills
• Ability for team work
• Knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS
