Accountants Assistant in Uganda at Eastern Archdiocesan Development Network (EADEN) -

Job Title: Accountants Assistant (2 positions)
Location: Tororo/lganga
Job Status: Full time Reports to: Area Manager

Responsibilities
1. Keeping the books of accounts and production of timely financial reports.
2. Maintaining a sound internal financial system.
Duties
• To receive and process all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment.
• Verify calculations and input codes in to the Accounts system in an accurate manner.
• To maintain and reconcile the Direct Debit mandates.
• To deal with daily transactions for the petty cash and ensure that reconciliations are completed on a weekly basis.
• To ensure all filing is done in a timely and accurate manner for all financial transactions.
• Prepare cheques for payment.
• To ensure that all transactions are posted daily.
• Developing and maintaining sound financial forecasting and budgeting cash flow management and proper accountability to all stakeholders.
• To closely monitor the effective and efficient utilization of funds allocated to the programme so as to ensure efficiency, accountability and value for money.
• To prepare and present in timely manner the annual, quarterly, monthly financial statements and budget estimates in accordance with the guidelines and regulations.
• Should pay strict observance to donor agencies financial guidelines and regulations.
• Uphold, safeguard and upgrade existing internal control systems.
• Assist in entering financial data into the financial accounting system for the organization
• Any other duties within organisation context as may be assigned


Job requirement

Minimum Qualification
• A diploma in Accounting/UDBS from a reputable institution.
• 2 Years Related work experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products-Word, Excel and Outlook.

Skills and attributes
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good analytical skills, ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to perform accurately and methodically following published procedures.
• Ability to work in a team, Good organisation ' and administrative skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Added advantage
• Experience with donor funded project accounts.
