Job Title: Business Support Project Manager

Role:

The Business Support Project Manager - Uganda will act as Client Manager for a number of Ugandan companies; supporting and managing their business development needs. This will involve being able to build strategic relationships with companies to support business change and capacity building. It will involve drawing in a wide range of expertise from within and outside Traidlinks to help address needs of individual businesses. This role will develop in line with the development of Traidlinks and its duties and responsibilities will adapt accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the development and delivery of mentoring and business development support to a specific group of Client companies.
* Strategic engagement with senior executives in Traidlinks’ client companies to identify business needs and identify priorities for support.
* Conduct business diagnostics/needs assessments and develop mentoring/support strategies to address problem areas.
* Provision of technical support and advice directly to company executives/relevant staff.
* Draw in expertise from Traidlinks staff, consultants, local partners and international experts as required.
* Performance management for results - monitoring and tracking results and on-going engagement with companies to monitor performance improvements and adjust support accordingly.
* Support strategic development of Traidlinks mentoring and enterprise support programmes including development of new and innovative ways of delivering business support services, engagement with local service providers.
* Assist with the development and rollout of cross functional programmes and activities
* Support reporting and project management of mentoring and enterprise development programmes in contributions to reports and on-going input to improve focus and impact of programmes.

Qualifications:

* Degree in Project Management level qualification.
* A minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience within a private sector environment ideally working in/with SMEs in manufacturing or service industry.
* Experience of working in the private sector in East Africa.
* Strong communication and negotiating skills both verbally and in written form.
* Knowledge of business and strategic planning ideally drawn from work in/with SMEs.
* International Experience beyond East Africa.
* Functional skill in either Finance, Marketing, Operations or Sales.
* Strategic innovate thinking.
* Inter-cultural knowledge.
* Ability to work independently
* Flexibility in scope of role and thinking
* Ability to deal with ambiguity.
* Pragmatic approach to dealing with problem-solving.
