Job Title: PROJECT MANAGER – FAMILY PLANNING (1 POST)

Job Summary: The primary responsibility of this position is to provide strategic leadership for improved accessibility and use of Family Planning Commodities in Uganda by increasing geographical coverage with emphasis to rural penetration of these commodities working through the private health sector.
This position requires a person who has specific hands-on knowledge and skills in designing, planning, implementing of Reproductive Health. The person should also have vast knowledge on communication and community based demand generation strategies for Family Planning
Essential Job Functions:
* The Project Manager will be specifically responsible for the following tasks:-
* Lead Design the implementation strategy that supports penetration and use of Family Planning Commodities to the targeted population down to the rural areas
* Provide overall management and coordination of Family Planning Product distribution and use by guiding the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting
* Leverage on the contributions of other players (including MoH and UNFPA) engaged in Family Planning product and service provision by establishing strategic working relationship and partnerships.
* Work closely with the targeted district Local Governments for increased UHGM visibility as a partner of choice in the provision of Family planning products and services at the district level.

* Manage the staff for effective and efficient implementation of the Family planning program.
Requirement:
Minimum Requirements:
* A Bachelors degree in social sciences or health related discipline.
* A Masters degree in project management, business management and planning is an added advantage.
* Good knowledge of MS Office programs like Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
* At least 5 years experience working in public health communication.
* Experience in working with community health-intervention programs is needed.
* Should have experience in working on community-health referral models.
* Evidence on having established and managed an effective referral network is essential.
* Experience in working on Behavior change communication programs.
* Experience in working with the private sector and NGOs is an added advantage.
* Should have training experience and partnership building with HIV/AIDS/T.B service providers.
* Should be familiar with PEPFAR and USAID reporting requirements.
* Should be flexible, innovative, with reporting writing, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and team work skills, as well as networking, facilitation, strategic thinking.
* A self-starter, and able to work with minimum supervision.
* Able to work under pressure with competing deadlines.
* Able to work with a multi-cultural environment within the organization.
