Community Officer, WASH Job Vacancy- GOAL UGANDA

Job Title: Community Officer, WASH - Bugiri

The Community Officer will lead the behavioural change initiatives in sanitation and Hygiene practices in the project area. He/she will be involved in the mobilisation, sensitization of the program activities in the communities and guiding the communities through site selection process. Hygiene promotion through the local government health department as well as capacity building and design of IEC material together with the local government.

Essential Requirements

* Degree in Humanities, Adult and Community education, Public health, Environmental science or a closely related field;
* Minimum of 3 years working experience with NGO or CBO;
* Proven experience in working in WASH/Health related projects;
* Proven experience and commitment to working directly with communities;
* Experience and commitment to participatory approaches;
* Ability to read and write to a high standard both in English;
* Computer literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel;
* Proven ability to effectively motivate, and engage people;
* Keen to learn and develop skills.

Desirable

Post graduate Diploma in project management; knowledge of one of the local languages of the area; ability ride a motor cycle and ability to leave and work in a remote environment.
