JICA (Japan) Scholarships - National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies GRIPS

Scholarships

Full scholarships are available for exceptionally qualified candidates who have been accepted for study at GRIPS. These scholarships are provided by the Japanese Government (MEXT), international organizations and GRIPS. You may apply for one of them when you file for application for admission.
What the scholarship covers


*

1. A monthly stipend is intended to cover living expenses such as food, clothing, and other daily necessaries, as well as insurance, and other miscellaneous related to your study at GRIPS. This stipend is fixed and cannot be increased to cover family members. The amount of your stipend may change slightly due to the economic situation in Japan.
2. Application, admission and tuition fees (paid directly to GRIPS by the scholarship sponsors.)
3. Round-trip economy-class air tickets between your home country and Japan.

* Please note that allowances and rules are different from each scholarship. Also, allowances are subject to change every year.

Admissions Requirements

Asian Development Bank - Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) 1) citizens of the countries that are developing members of ADB
2) at least two years' work experience, and under 36 years old as of April 1, 2011
3) Preference given to those currently working as government officials
Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) Scholarship 1) under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2011
2) preference is given to government officials and senior students of citizen of ASEAN's country who are planning careers such as government officials in ASEAN 10 countries or international institute workers in the following countries: ASEAN 10 countries, Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea
Two-year Master's Program of Public Policy (MP2) Students awarded with any scholarship and self-finansed students Pre-and early-career officials and staff members inlocal or national governments international organizations and private companies. May 16, 2011
Asian Development Bank -Japan Scholarship Program(ADB-JSP)(New) 1) citizens of the countries that are developing members of ADB December 20, 2010(New)

Public Finance Program Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) 1) government officials of WB borrowing countries with at least three years experience in tax policy and administration February 23, 2011
2) between the ages of 25 and 45
Japan - World Customs Organization (Japan - WCO) Human Resource Development Program Scholarships 1) government officials of developing countries with at least two years experience in the field of customs policy and administration in their home contries preferably below 35 years of age
2) Secretary General of the WCO invites nominations every year from a selected number of WCO member customs administrations
3) candidates must be chosen and nominated by their Customs Administrations
Macroeconomic Policy Program (one year and two years) Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Asia (Semi)government officials involved in macroeconomic management of the following countries: International Monetary Fund Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific
