2. Senior Research Fellow Sectoral

(Reports to the Principal Research Fellow -1 Position)

Main Duties:
a) Undertake empirical sectoral policy research and analysis
b) Engage in commissioned work for and on behalf of the Centre
c) Based on research findings and sound analysis, contribute lo national policy discourse
d) Guide research and capacity building activities of Research Fellows and Assistant Research Fellows
e) Mentor and coach Research Fellows and Assistant Research Fellows


Job requirement

Requirements:
a) Excellent academic background with a Ph.D. in Economics or any related area in economics (by coursework and research) from a reputable University
b) Must be abreast with sector policies in education, health, agriculture, water and sanitation
c) Must be conversant with development challenges in the above mentioned sectors
d) Must have econometric impact evaluation techniques
e) Must have publications in at least two of the above mentioned sectors in (c)
f) Must be conversant with the linkage between sectoral issues and macroeconomic policies
g) Excellent writing and presentation skills
h) A minimum of five (3) years of postdoctoral research work experience
i) Professional experience of working in a reputable research institutions
j) Proven high level writing skills as primary author in published research papers, review etc,
k) Strong training background in theory and methods of economic analysis
l) High-level interpersonal skills and good communication skills
a) Self motivation and capability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment
b) Evidence of publication of own written articles in either local or international journals
c) Demonstrated ability to use STATA, E Views. GAMS or GAUSS for data analysis
d) Abreast with current global and national economic issues
e) Unquestionable integrity
