Main roles:
To strategically create, develop and implement communications and policy engagement plans that will
Contribute to the marketability o( the Centre's research products and enhance ft visibility both locally and internationally The Information Management & Dissemination Specialist reports to the Principe
Research Fellow

Duties:
a) Heads and coordinates the activities of the Information Unit;
b) Coordinate the development, production and circulation of the Centre's publications;
c) Edit and coordinate the production of Research Series, Occasional Papers and Research Reports, among others,
d) Plan and implement the communication and policy engagement activities at national and sub-regional levels;
e) Production of quarterly and annual reports; and newsletters;
f) Work with the Centre's stakeholders to facilitate policy engagement based on Its research evidence;
g) Support the dissemination activities;
h) Strengthen EPRC's research work through media networks and associations;
i) Identify relevant TV/Radio programs and pitch for TV/Radio interviews with EPRC researchers;
j) Support or initiate activities that promote awareness of EPRC's work among policy makers. Private sector and CSO, among others;
k) Provide advice on website content and design,
l) Initiate and/or support other e-dissemination activities;
m) Identify and make available or explore availability of e-resources relevant to EPRC research work; and
n) Explore fundraising opportunities for communication activities and participate in development of proposals.


Job requirement

Requirements:
a) Minimum of Master's degree either in Mass Communication; Library and Information Science; Information Sciences (Publishing major), or Public Relations from a recognised University;
b) Qualification in the economics related fields will be an added advantage
c) At least three years of hands-on experience in undertaking similar works;
d) Ability to understand and interpret economic issues;
e) Excellent writing skills and ability to translate complex economic jargons into simple messages for general audiences.
f) Excellent organizational skills;
g) Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office products and Desk-top Publishing software;
h) Able to work independently with minimal supervision but thrive in a highly dynamic, energetic and demanding team,
i) Substantial experience at a management level in and knowledge of records/information management strategies and systems including electronic document systems
j) Well developed leadership skills including the ability to lead in a team environment:
k) High level communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a range of people in various contexts, and
l) Well developed conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to provide expert advice in relation to information management.
