Purpose of the position:
Purpose of this position is to provide support/maintenance for the application and server environment in order to ensure optimal performance at all times. The position is responsible for the development of enhanced systems products, system administration, backup/restore, security, and maintenance of server software and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage directory structures, rights, backup, security of software/files on servers including user, server and workstation account maintenance support in accordance with security policies and procedures;
• Administers, designs, implements and supports server systems, including, but not limited to: Installation of server network operating systems, central malware/ virus controls, DBMS and all server network services. Installation of server software management applications and utilities, patch management and systemic enhancement to the server farm environment;
• Maintains and enhances the performance of the server environment and ensure all relevant Service Level Agreements are met;
• Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Lotus Notes servers and clients, including collaborative/information sharing applications, workflow systems, and communications systems/applications;
• Develops and maintains Lotus Notes server connection and replication schedules and ensures proper configuration for ail Lotus Notes servers in the Partnership to provide 24 x 7 connectivity and replication capability;
• Resolves replication conflicts between Lotus Notes servers in the Partnership to ensure the effective and smooth transfer of corporate information through the Partnership;
• Networks with field based IT officers on supporting regional and project offices; handling of server related issues from, the help desk and escalation of trie same;
• Researches, analyzes, evaluates and utilizes new systems tools for server monitoring, maintenance, performance, analysis and backup/restore. Handles server documentation, as well as computer technical guide Updating;
• Takes on the network administrators roles whenever the network administrator is out of office.
Job requirement
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information v Technology and any numerical courses with a bias in Computer science
• MCSE certification is a plus
• Certified Lotus Professional (CLPI/Administrator is an added advantage
• Three years relevant experience
• Strong Windows 2003 server platform experience, including strong understanding of Active Directory, backup/recovery, TCP/IP configuration, shared drives, HTTP/HTTPS, GPOs, Security Templates, etc. Candidate should be able to support and enhance the local environment
• Installation and configuration of server hardware and software, specifically HP ML53Q & DL360 product lines
• Empirical knowledge of Lotus Notes/Domino environment desired
• Extensive knowledge of both client and server operating systems, Sunsystems, MacAfee EPO, MS SQL, Cluster installation and troubleshooting is an added advantage.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with tape libraries/ autoloaders.
• DNS architecture for Windows 2003 environment.
• Installation and configuration of DBMS tools including MS SQL Server.
• Strong Understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, DHCP
