Job Title: Data clerks (2 Posts)

BACKGROUND: The Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation - Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) headquartered at Mulago hospital, is a comprehensive HIV care and treatment organization that supports the treatment and care of HIV infected and affected Children and Adults. Baylor - Uganda has three operational areas; HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment services, Health professional training and clinical research.
Baylor-Uganda is engaged in working with the MOH in a number of Districts in Uganda in strengthening health systems for improved delivery of HIV/AIDS services. We are therefore looking for experienced, committed and hard working individuals prepared to work for a fixed one year contract in Health centres and District hospitals in Adjuman, Koboko, Kabarole, Kamwenge and Kyenjojo.

Data clerks (2 Posts)

Role definition: To collect, sort, code, keyboard entry of data and secure storage of data forms processed in line with the Baylor Uganda's records and data management guidelines Key result areas:
1. Develop daily/monthly and quarterly automated lists of patients' information as requested by the different Medical care& psychosocial support Units in line with the M&E procedures.
2. Post patients medical and psychosocial oriented data from their files into the patients' data base on a daily basis in line with data management guidelines
3. Maintain a record of updated Databases, through data cleaning (Client Registry and MIS), running queries, error detection, and back- up, in line with administrative and departmental guidelines.

4. Receive and register newly refered/linked patients on every clinic day
, assign each a distinctive clinic number, make and updating appointments in line with clinic flow guidelines and data management guidelines
5. Generate and distribute to all clinicians a list for every clinic day expected patients before the clinic commences and produce a missed visit report on every clinic day by 4pm to be submitted to the Home health officer in line with data management guidelines
6. Provide support in tracking patients' files especially ones without clinic exercise books and retrieve any information required by the key stakeholders in line with data management guidelines
7. Generate a monthly report for all patient's clinic attendances, unscheduled , scheduled , new patients and studies in accordance with the clinic's set reporting standards in line with data management guidelines

Job requirement

Job specifications:
The job holder should have; 1) Certificate in IT, Computer Science, Information Management, Data Management plus certificates in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Database Management. (2) At least 2 years of experience in data collection and analysis; with a reputable international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives (4) Have Key personal competences in Team and communication skills, networking and partnership skills. Must be dynamic, Persuasive &convincing, self- motivated and able to demonstrate high initiative. (5) Knowledge of common Statistical analysis and database management packages Ms Access, Ms Excel, STATA, SPSS, EPiDATA
