Grants officer job in Uganda at Baylor College of Medicine Children's Foundation- Career Vacancy

Job Title: Grants officer (1 Post)
Role definition: Review and monitor the implementation of financial and accounting systems and guidelines for grant funds in the district and managing the performance of grants projects in line with the Baylor Uganda Grants department's mission
Key Result areas:
1. Disseminating policies, procedures and guidelines from the Sub grants Policy Manual for adoption by sub grantees in the region in line with Grants department mission.
2. Conducts periodic needs analysis and build the capacity of all sub grantees and others involved in the implementation of the project in grants management in accordance with the grants guidelines and agreements.
3. Assessment of the financial capacities of potential grantees, and provision of technical assistance to the grantees as may be required.
4. Monitor the preparation of timely and accurate regional quarterly and annual budgets forecasts and the disbursement of funds to grantees as per the approved budgets in line with the grants guidelines and agreements.
5. Monitor the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports and accountability support documents of grant funds by the district and certify their correctness and give feed back to grantees in accordance with the grants guidelines and agreements.
6. Prepare, submit regional grant management plans to the Grants Manager for approval and monitor their implementation in accordance with grants guidelines and approved budgets
7. Develop and maintain records management system for each grantee including but not limited to financial agreement, work plans, approved budgets, disbursements, quarterly financial and programme reports, communications etc.
8. Prepare monthly and quarterly actual expenditure Vs budgeted expenditure reports on grants performance and submit to the Grants Manager in accordance with the grants guidelines and agreements.
9. Review and approve partner payment requests and the supporting documents in accordance with the Sub grants Policy Manual
10. Make regular field monitoring visits to grantees to establish the progress level of grants programs and sub grantee budget utilization and conduct lessons learnt meetings in accordance with the grants guidelines and agreements.

Job requirement

Job specifications:
The job holder should have; 1) A Bachelor's (honors) degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance. (2) Membership of ACCA, CPA. 3. Knowledge of any Finance arid accounting packages most especially navision. (3) At least 2 years of experience in managing district grants programs/projects with a reputable international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives (4) Have Key personal competences in Team and communication skills, Must be dynamic, Persuasive & convincing, self- motivated and able to demonstrate high initiative.
