Job Title : Stores Manager

Reports to : Director
Working Relationships
The Stores Manager deals mainly with the Pilot-Plant,TBI-Factory and with staff and stores at the secretariat.
Job Statement
Under direct supervision of the Director and in close consultation with the Finance Manager and the Procurement Officer, the store keeper is responsible for the proper documentation and analysis of all financial transactions and checks supporting documents for payment and purchases and delivery of all goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Aside from being asked to perform other official functions as required, the storekeeper shall perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Duty No.1 performs accounting functions
Responsibilities:
Verifies the goods/items delivered and requested for.
Conducts stock taking-counts as required.
Provides data necessary for f reporting and inputs for budget planning and preparation;
Monitors the status of all receivables,payables,prepaid accounts and undertakes necessary follow up for the purpose of liquidation or settlement;
Maintains proper custody of all accountable stock cards, forms, records and documents and maintains confidentiality of all financial and stores information.
Ensure interior and exterior of store maintained to the project's standards.
Guide employee awareness of safety and emergency procedures.
Working Condition
For him/her to be effective and efficient into the performance of his/her duties and responsibilities, the Stores Manager must be provided with the following:
A small working table with drawers and comfortable chair.
Journals and ledgers.
Filing cabinet
Qualifications:
A first degree in Stores Management related areas or Procurement and Logistics.
Any other qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum Competencies Required
To be able to dispose the above responsibilities, the Bookkeeper should have atleast the following capabilities;
1) Minimum of 2years stores keeping experience in a Government related institution
2) Above average numerical ability
3) Detail- oriented
4) Computer literate, preferably on the use of excel
5) Adequate accounting/financial management skills
6) Keen understanding of the accounting procurement and auditing policies and procedures
7) Ability to work under pressure
8) Incorruptible of high integrity and
9) Very honest dependable and trustworthy.
