The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is the leading international conservation organization focused solely on the African continent. AWF's mission is, together with the people of Africa, to ensure that the wildlife and wild lands of Africa will endure forever.

At the core of the USAID Tourism for Biodiversity (TB4) Program is the hypothesis that successful nature tourism is a platform for both biodiversity conservation and economic growth in Uganda. Uganda's network of protected areas will be a growing source of comparative advantage for the country as the demand for high-quality nature-based tourism products grows globally and other destination countries reach saturation. The project will build demand for Uganda's nature tourism by developing marketing strategies and catalyzing government and private sector investment in ecotourism. Working with partners to build benefit flows to communities and private land owners from biodiversity assets and nature tourism, including establishing private and community conservation areas, and will demonstrate how these benefits help deliver improved conservation. The project will work closely with the Uganda Wildlife Authority and National Forestry Authority in partnership with many tourism sector stakeholders.
