Job Title: Manager Savings
The Manager Savings shall be based at Head Office and will be responsible for responsible for the day to day Management of PML’s savings/deposits portfolio, by exercising prudent fiscal
management in compliance with the MDI Act 2003 and the MDI regulations. He / she will report to the Senior Manager – Delivery Channels.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Growing and managing the Savings / Deposits in PML.
2. Initiate strategies for customer acquisition, growth and retention.
3. Manage deposit portfolios to ensure profitability, by closely monitoring the market, customers and competitors.
4. Closely monitor regulatory developments, to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements in the course of conducting business.
5. Undertake regular research in the general developments in the savings market and regularly update depositors’ database.
6. Under the supervision of Management, develop long-term corporate financial strategies and establish professional relationships with depositing institutions.
7. Regularly make analytical reports on PML’s savings product, growth and development.
8. Provide technical assistance on the savings product in respect to training, branch operations, recent developments and product delivery.
Minimum academic qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields from a reputable institution: Commerce, Economics, Microfinance, Development Economics, Development studies, Business Studies, Business Computing, Business Statistics, Entrepreneurship & Small Business Management, Social Sciences, SWASA, and Education or in any other relevant / related field; with at least 4 years’ experience at a senior managerial level. Candidates with direct microfinance and banking experience will be at an added advantage.
Person Specification:
• The ideal candidate should be an outstanding sales person with the ability to mobilize savings and grow deposits.
• Should be self-motivated, innovative with a passion, to achieve steep targets and able to work under pressure.
• Should be a good communicator with superb attention to detail, unquestionable character and interpersonal skills.
• Should possess a strong personality and dynamism, and should be able pull colleagues together to build a strong team.
• Should have proven leadership skills and be results oriented.
• Should be honest, well organized and reliable and should be aged between 28 – 38 years.
