Job Title: LOGISTICS OFFICER - OPERATIONS (1 Post)
Open-Ended Contract, Based in Kitgum
As a Logistics officer, you will be responsible for the organisation and co-ordination of logistics and procurement activities. You will have a high level of professional competence in managing the supply chain, including requisitioning, procurement, transport, warehousing (including storage and stock control systems) and the issuing of supplies. You will work closely with the Logistics Manager on security and safety issues. You will provide leadership in assets management and fleet management.
To be able to play this role effectively, you will have preferably a University Degree in the relevant field with a professional qualification in Procurement and Logistics, and at least 3 years experience in a similar position.
Proven management experience and people management skills are essential as well as ability to lead and work effectively with teams in a culturally diverse organisation. Also essential are strong communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
Demonstrable ability to be flexible in demanding situations is an advantage. Your integrity must be beyond question, and you should be exemplary in demonstrating transparency and accountability in all areas of logistics. NGO Experience will be an advantage. IT Skills are essential.
