Main Purpose of the Job:
The HRO will be responsible to the Regional Human Rights Officer for effective and efficient implementation of activities of human rights protection and promotion in the region through the Education function.

Qualifications:
Applicants must be Uganda citizens holding any Bachelors Degree in any of the following areas; Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences,
Bachelor of Arts (Arts, Education)
A post Graduate qualification in Education will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
(a) Identifying and assessing the needs for human rights sensitization and civic education of various organizations, institutions, groups and individuals within the Region,
(b) Participating in designing Training of Trainers (TOT) Programmes for selected Organizations/ Institutions.
(c) Co-ordinating and overseeing the Human Rights Sensitization and Civic Education Programmes in the Region with all stakeholders, and local and international partners, including other constitutional bodies; government departments, institutions and agencies; development partners; international agencies; and NGOs.
(d) Organizing, on regular basis, the publication of Human Rights Education. Materials (such as position papers, Workshop Reports and Research' Findings; In older to build capacity.
(e) Carrying out research and co-coordinating research activities into human rights issues and providing human rights information in the Region
(f) Participating in developing Annual and Quarterly Work Plans and Budgets for the Regional Office Human Rights Education and Training Programmes and Activities.
(g) Writing and submitting Activity Reports in time.
(h) Being in charge of the Regional Office Library and Documentation Centre (LDC) (i) Carrying out other Duties and Responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervisor
