Job Location: Iganga District, Uganda
A suitable candidate is being sought to fill the position of Communications/Public relations officer as below.
Position: Communications/Public relations Officer (1)
Summary of Responsibilities:
Develop appropriate publicity mechanisms and materials for local and international audience. (News
paper articles, website postings & radio talk shows).
Organize seminars and sensitization meetings in community, district and other fora.
Compile, publish and coordinate distribution of quarterly newsletter and annual reports.
Maintain an up to-date computerized catalogue of Site Resource Center.
Mobilize stakeholders to support the site or carryout projects in the site.
Organize promotional events such as exhibitions and press conferences to enhance the
organization's reputation.
Any other duties assigned from time to time
Communications/Public relations Officer reports to the Site Operations Coordinator.
Job requirement
Educational Requirements and Qualifications:
Degree in Mass Communication or its equivalent. Experience in grants management is an added advantage.
Three years work experience in relevant communication, project management and publication field required.
Applicant should be ready to work and live in Iganga. Fluency in written and spoken English and Lusoga is a Must. Should be able to work with MS Excel, MS Publisher and common statistical programs.
