Job Title: Land Rights Desk Officer (1 Position)
Reports to: Legal Officer
Duty Station: Kotido
Duties and Responsibilities
§ Offer Legal advice to people on their Land Rights
§ Provide information on women’s Land Rights to the community
§ Carry out community awareness on Land Rights
§ Refer intricate cases to other Legal Aid providers and courts of Laws
§ Pass on information materials on Land Rights/policies/law to clients
§ Systematically maintain proper records of clients visits to the Land Rights center
§ Write and submit reports on a routine basis, (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annually)
§ Liaise with other relevant institutions and departments of the Government that deal with Land matters in order to optimize the protection of Land Rights
§ Perform any other function as shall be incidental to the above mentioned roles.
Education and Experience
A Bachelors Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences and a Diploma in Law is an added advantage obtained from a reputable university with a minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in the field of Human Rights Promotion and Community Development. Knowledge of N’gakaramojong is desirable. A successful candidate should also possess proven knowledge in conflict resolution and transformation, Human Rights and Family Law.
