Job Title: Community Liaison Officer (2 Positions)

Uganda Land Alliance is a consortium of National and International NGOs and individuals focusing on advocacy on Land and Land Rights promotion and protecting the interests of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized groups of people and individuals with its secretariat in Kampala. The Uganda Land Alliance is protecting peoples Land Rights through, Enhancing civic participation in land governance and resource management in Karamoja region

Reports to: Programme Officer- Land Use

Duty Station: Kotido/Napak



Duties and Responsibilities

§ Lead awareness campaigns on Land Rights issues in the communities aimed at spearheading the project objectives

§ Facilitate identification, formation and capacity building in Land Rights issues

§ Take a lead in collaboration with the local government and other Development actors in the region advocating for Land Rights

§ Promote advocacy campaigns on Land Rights in the areas of operation

§ Prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual reports and thereof

§ Mobilize trainings for the community paralegals, development agencies and the communities as may be required

§ Promote monitoring and evaluation of the projects on a monthly and quarterly basis

§ Perform any other lawful duty as may be required from time to time.



Education and Experience

A Bachelors Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, SWASA, Adult and Community Education obtained from a reputable university with a minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in the field of Human Rights Promotion and Community Development. Knowledge of N’gakarimojong is desirable. A successful candidate should also possess proven knowledge in conflict resolution and transformation, Human Rights and Family Law.
