Job Title: Legal Officer
Reports to: Programme Officer Legal empowerment
Duty Station: Napak
Duties and Responsibilities
§ Offer legal support to people on Land Rights
§ Handle Land cases with professionalism and integrity
§ Represent clients in the courts of laws on their Rights to Land
§ Prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual Report and thereof
§ Make proper filing of court cases and ensure their safety from time to time
§ Promote advocacy on land Rights to the people in the communities
§ Perform any other function as shall be incidental to the above mentioned roles.
§ Spearhead community land titling
§ Coordinate with the district land offices
§ Build regional land alliances
Education and Experience
A Bachelors Degree in Law (LLB) with a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Center, with a practicing Certificate from the Advocates of the High Court. Knowledge on the Nkaramojong Language will be an added advantage. At least 1-2 years of working experience in advocacy and defending of Human Rights activities will be an advantage.
