TERMS OF SERVICE: Permanent terms

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should be Ugandans holding EITHER an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce (Accounting Option), Business Administration (Accounting Option), Business Studies (Accounting Option) and/or Full Professional Accounting qualifications like CPA, ACCA or CIMA etc. Possession of both qualifications will be an added and distinctive advantage.
WORKING EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years working experience as an Accountant in Public Sector or reputable private sector organizations. Hands on experience of computerized accounting packages will be an added advantage.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Manager, Finance and Administration for performing the
following duties:
- Preparing realistic budget estimates for the year ahead.
- Monitoring expenditure against budget throughout the year.
- Preparing regular management reports.
- Treasury and cash flow management, including managing exchange risk in OAG financial operations.
- Maintaining a reliable Fixed Asset Register.
- Preparing and filing timely and accurate tax and other statutory returns.
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Assisting with the compilation of quarterly expenditure proposals for finance committee meetings.
- Contributing financial inputs to the annual review of the corporate plan.
- Scrutinizing and processing payments of supplier invoices and other claims.
- Administering and preparing bank reconciliation statements of the office bank accounts.
- Maintaining main and subsidiary ledger accounts for budgetary control.
- Supervising and developing subordinate staff.
- Maintaining effective communication with the other departments and directorates to ensure smooth operations.
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
