About this job

Our Client Alcatel-Lucent is seeking to recruit suitable qualified candidates for the above vacancy;


Primary Function:

Responsible for the support in management of the HR Function across East Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To support the implementation of the Human Resource strategy through effective recruitment and selection, performance management, Training and Development, Change Management.
To influence and ensure compliance of all Human Resource practices and interventions with strategic imperatives on the company.
To assist in the formulation of Human Resource policies and procedures and review of current ones as and when required.
To provide new employees Induction Program/Kit as well as to address Human Resource related queries while providing support for Human Resource strategy interventions to the Human Resource Management.
To manage Employee Welfare initiatives as well as provide general Human Resource support to ensure Human Resource best practices as and when required.
To assist in the facilitation and implementation of retention and organisational development initiatives to ensure employee satisfaction and organisational performance.
To support the Human Resource Management and other managers in the implementation of interventions relating to motivation, morale and team building.
Human Resource Administration - manage the company’s various Health & Safety schemes in East Africa, coordinate Immigration procedures for employees, expatriates and their dependants and manage leave reports on a monthly basis and monitor the development of leave trends.
Human Resource is to act as custodian of all Human Resource related information on intranet-based systems as well as generating all Human Resource reports for East Africa, manage the various e-tools and systems - X500, Cadis, GeS for East Africa

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management.
5 years of Human Resource management experience in a large corporation.
Good communication skills.
Good computer skills.
Should be able to have a thorough knowledge of the industry, its markets, customers and competitive environment.
Able to establish and maintain relationships with people at all levels.
Knowledge of HR best Practices.
Advanced skills in managing e-tools and intranet based applications.
Knowledge of labour issues in the larger Eastern Africa Region.
