About this job

Our Client CNOOC Uganda Limited is seeking to recruit suitably qualified candidates for the above vacancy;

Primary Functions:

Responsible for all contracts related support and purchase of long-lead items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Contracts Engineer shall, under the guidance of the Supervisor fulfill the following responsibilities:

Participate and perform all procurement-related activities including but not limited to market survey, pre-qualification, establishment of bidders list, preparation of RFP package, RFP releasing, bid receiving, bid opening, bid evaluation, clarification, RTA preparation and contract execution.
Participate in required contract negotiations and ensure the interest of the shareholders is well protected under the contract, specifically in the areas of legal, technical, commercial and QHSE assurance.
Track the implementation status of contracts and report the issue of contract amendment when such a need arises. When a Change Order occurs, suggest justifiable disposal against the contract and proceed with the required approach for approval.
Perform procurement activities related to purchase of long-lead items.
Participate in Contractor Management.
Responsible for contract maintenance, document control and other post award administration issues.
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Petroleum engineering, machinery, equipment, petrochemicals, and business administration.
At least 5 years related work experience in contracts and procurement, preferably in MNCs, similar projects, or overseas projects.
Due experience in Contracts & Procurement.
Knowledgeable in engineering, energy industry and machinery.
Knowledgeable in business administration and analysis of commercials and financials.
Familiar with the supply marketplace, major suppliers and products, and industry dynamics/drivers.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong team work spirit.
Good negotiation, communication and inter personal skills.
Good analyzing and problem-solving ability.
Excellent command of the English language.
Good team player.
Highly motivated and sense of ownership.
