SENIOR PETROLEUM OFFICER, ENFORCEMENT (LEGAL)

SALARY : UGANDA GOVERNMENT SCALE U3
AGE : 25 YEARS AND ABOVE
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized University/Institution. Possession of a Postgraduate qualification in Law will be an added advantage.
Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years working experience, which should have been served at Officer Level in the relevant field in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
He/she should possess the following competencies; team work skills, analytical skills, good communication skills, records and information management skills, Information communication technology, planning, organizing and coordinating and ethics and integrity.
DUTIES:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Petroleum Officer/Enforcement in performing the following duties:
• Work with other regulatory agencies (Police, Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Uganda Revenue Authority etc) to establish mechanisms for prosecutions on petroleum standards offences.
• Initiate follow-up field petroleum monitoring and inspection issues regarding petroleum operators, prices and stocks.
• Initiate follow-up field inspection issues relating to compliance with the set standards.
• Review petroleum standards offences and make recommendations to effect appropriate prosecutions.
• Contribute to draft routine petroleum information reports.
• Contribute to draft budget estimates for the enforcement unit.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
