Job Description (Duties):

Our client British-American is a leading financial services organization with global presence in Kenya, Mauritius, London and Malta. Their vision is to be the most trusted financial services company as they seek to offer superior insurance and asset management services to individuals, business corporations and non-governmental organizations. As part of their growth strategy, the company will be diversifying its Insurance operation to the Ugandan market.

Job Purpose:
Ensure full representation on General Insurance, Pension and Group Life Products to clients and intermediaries.
Nature and Scope:
Sales Executive will be responsible for securing new business in General Insurance, Pension and Group Life lines either directly or through intermediaries.

Responsibilities:

Identify and engage potential clients and recommend new Agents/Brokers to the company for appointment;
Service existing business;
Follow up renewal of business under his area;
Ensure that accurate and competitive quotations are prepared and delivered promptly to Agents, Brokers and prospective clients;
Ensure excellent customer service to enable the Company retain existing customers and attract prospective clients;
Continuously develop and expand network of brokers and agents;
Gather marketing intelligence statistics including competition, new products and Company’s image to facilitate development of strategies to give the company a competitive advantage;
Liaison with Agents and Brokers.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on production.
Undertake initial underwriting of business to ensure sound acceptance of risk thereafter forward to the Claims & Underwriting Manager.
Handle customer complaints written or verbal and refer to head office where necessary.
Gather all initial information required when claim arises and liaise on the same with Head Office.
Present an excellent image of the Company.
Monitoring client portfolios;
Assists in other duties as needed and directed.



Necessary Qualifications:

Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent;
Good advancement in CII Credits;
Minimum 5 years experience with bias in General Insurance Underwriting as well in Group Life and Pensions;
Demonstrated proficiency in computer/software packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.
