Position: DIRECTOR CAPACITY BUILDING AND TRAINING
Duty station: COE-Mulago
Reports to: Executive Director

Role definition: To provide overall technical Leadership, Managerial oversight for the Directorate and ensure program implementation and reporting of all SNATS project activities, achievement of results and timely submission of all project deliverables.
S/he will work with the Ministry of Health and all other relevant Ministries and partners to strengthen the capacity of the Government of Uganda to provide quality comprehensive HIV/AIDS services.

Key Result Areas
1. Lead the Baylor Uganda team and work with MOH to design and implement activities of the directorate and SNATS project in line with Baylor -Uganda's mission, MOH's guidelines and donor requirements.
2. Provide oversight and supervise all activities in the SNATS project and have the overall responsibility for the successful performance of the technical team.
3. Provide strategic leadership and bear responsibility for all administrative requirements to fulfill the performance objectives of the SNATS project.
4. Provide direction and mechanisms for strengthening National systems for planning, coordination, standardization, certification, accreditation and su¬pervision of both pre and in service HIV/AIDS training.
5. Initiate ways of supporting HIV/AIDS service deli very training institutions for health workers and other relevant institutions and integrate standardized HIV/AIDS in service training in to the programs.
'5. Provide technical support to pre service training institutions for health work¬ers, teachers and other relevant professional and integrate standardized HIV/AIDS training in to the curricula.
7. To initiate and maintain functional relationship with a range of stakeholders and partners including maintenance of good working relationship with MOH and other relevant partners.
8. Develop and monitor the implementation of the work plans and budgets in line with financial guidelines and Organization’s mission.
9. Act as secretary to the SNATS technical working group.
10. Develop, appraise, support and maintain a competent and motivated team through giving constructive feedback, coaching and mentoring, in accor¬dance with the human resources manual.
11 .Review and compile reports from the Program Manager and report on project performance and progress and feed back to Management.

Qualifications and job specifications
The successful candidate will have;
1. A Masters degree in Public Health, or Internal Medicine or Pediatrics.
2. Five (5) years experience working in clinical or Public health including HIV/ AIDS setting.
3. Should have technical expertise in capacity building and training.
The successful candidate will have;

4. Demonstrated leadership skills in working and collaborating with Govern¬ment institutions, and Districts.
5. Proven project management experience, Knowledge of donor guidelines.
4. The successful candidate needs to be a team player with excellent com¬munication skills (both oral and written) and with strong management and analytical skills,
5. The candidate must be 35-45 years of age.
6. Registration with the Uganda Medical Council is required.
