Position: PROJECT COORDINATOR, TRAINING
Duty station: Secretariat – Kampala
Reports to: Program Manager SNATS

Role definition: To monitor and review the implementation of the SNATS training programme and develop support and innovative mechanisms of health workers in line with departmental mission

Key Result Areas
1. Conduct training needs assessment for targeted health personnel, and compile and present findings to stakeholders in line with the departmental mission
2. Prepare and monitor training budgets for implementing the SNAT training programme in line with department's mission
3. Work with Program Manager to identify areas for scholarship programs to support health workers and retain them.
4. Develop an innovative program for support and retention of health workers through provision of scholarships.
5. Monitor the implementation of capacity building programmes for various stakeholders at all levels; National, Regional and District Levels based on capacity building needs assessment in line with the departmental mission
6. Assess the progress and impact of the SNATS training programme in line with established M and E guidelines
7. Develop and maintain strategic partnerships 8 networks with key actors/ stakeholders to enhance their participation in the SNATS training pro¬gramme according to Baylor's organisational policies and guidelines
8. Develop and update a data bank for different trainers to implement the train¬ing programme in line with Baylor - Uganda Capacity Building and Curricu¬lum development departmental work plan.
9. Prepare periodic reports with appropriate recommendations on identified project implementation strategies, targets and operational problems ac¬cording to the programme/project objectives and Baylor Uganda's reporting guidelines.
Qualifications and job specifications
The successful candidate will have:
1. A Masters degree in Public Health or Internal Medicine or Paediatrics
2. Five years medical experience 3 years of experience in Managing Capacity Building Programmes in a reputable Non Governmental Organization.
3. Proven donor working experience to deliver Managing Capacity Build¬ing initiatives, engagement with relevant stakeholders, and ability to meet deadlines.
4. The successful candidate needs to be a team player with excellent com¬munication skills (both oral and written) and organizational skills.
5. The candidate must be 34-45 years of age.
6. Registration with the Uganda Medical Council is required.
