Position: PROJECT COORDINATOR (Region)
Duty station: Arua, Soroti, Fort Portal and Moroto
Reports to: Program Manager
Purpose of the job: To Coordinate and monitor program activities in the re¬gion so as to strengthen the capacity of districts, health facilities and civil so¬ciety organizations (CSOs) to provide quality and sustainable comprehensive HIV/AIDS services in accordance with the Program guidelines
Key Result Areas:
1. Establish partnership opportunities in the districts and with CSOs and initi¬ate MOUs with them in accordance with the Programme Objectives and guidelines
2. Provide technical assistance to districts, Health facilities and CSOs to draft work plans for HIV/AIDS services and review their work plans in ac¬cordance with Programme and MOU guidelines
3. Work with monitoring and evaluation to develop M and E plans and together with the districts identify indicators for performance based sub granting in accordance with the Programme objectives
4. Conduct learning and reflection workshops on programme activities and share best practices in accordance with the Project mission and guidelines
5. Monitor activities for strengthening the capacity of districts and CSOs to mobilize funds for implementation of HIV/AIDS activities in accordance with the Programme objectives
6. Supervise and mentor the regional staff and conduct the regional staff's annual performance appraisal in accordance with HR guidelines
7. Conduct staff monthly meetings; attend regional planning and evaluation meetings with district committees and CSOs in accordance with Baylor's policies and procedures
8. Review and monitor the implementation of procedures and guidelines on storage, stock control, and distribution of Drugs, Laboratory supplies, spare parts and consumable materials to different users in accordance with es¬tablished guidelines
Qualifications and job specifications
The successful candidate will have;
1. A Masters degree in Public Health, or Internal Medicine.
2. Five (5) years of experience in managing medical Programmes in NGOs.
3. Proven project management experience and Knowledge of donor guidelines.
4. The successful candidate needs to be a team player with excellent com¬munication skills (both oral and written) and with strong management and analytical skills.
5. The candidate must be 30-45 years of age.
6. Registration with the Uganda Medical Council is required.
